Introduction to ToastmastersWelcome to Toastmasters!If you are wondering what is Toastmasters, you have come to the right place. Toastmasters is a place where you learn communication and leadership skills in a friendly environment; it is not a place to toast beer as what most people believe. The concept of Toastmasters was originated by Dr. Ralph Smedley and its head office is in California. The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth. Toastmasters Clubs in SingaporeThere are many toastmasters clubs in Singapore; some are run by community centres while some are privately owned but they all share the same mission. Most club meetings are conducted in English but there are some in Chinese or Tamil. You are most welcome to visit any clubs and experience how each clubs conduct their meetings. If you like any particular club, you are also encouraged to join the club as a member.
