    • Become a better listener
    • Improve your presentation skills

    • Build your ability to motivate and persuade
    • Reach your professional and personal goals
    • Increase your self confidence
  3. What is involved in Toastmasters programme?
The Toastmasters educational programme starts with the basic programme - Communication and Leadership programme. It allows a member to pursue both the communication programme and leadership programme at the same time or separately. See chart below :

Each programme has a manual with 10 projects. Members are required to present their projects during the Club Toastmaster meeting. Immediate evaluation will be given to members after their presentation. Members can choose their own pace to finish the two programmes. Once they have finished the two basic programmes, they are awarded Competent Communicator (CC) and Competent Leader (CL) respectively. They then can move on to the advanced projects until they achieve the Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) award, which is the most distinguished award in Toastmasters.
  4. How is a Toastmasters meeting conducted?
A typical Toastmasters meeting is normally conducted by Toastmaster of the Day/Evening together with a group of appointment holders. It consists of two parts - Table Topics session and Prepared Speech session.

The Table Topics session allows the club members and visitors a chance to practice thinking and speaking on their feet on a topic given by the Table Topics Master. The Prepared Speech session, on the other hand, allows members to practice their prepared speech based on their given manual. They are required to present their speech according to the criteria and time set by their manuals. They will then be evaluated by assigned evaluators for their performance.
